Aqua Pharmaceuticals, based in Malvern, Pa., is the first pharmaceutical company to use Dendrite MICROTM for its national sales force, following a successful pilot that involved close collaboration between development and deployment teams at both companies. Since the launch, Aqua has reported an immediate and dramatic increase in sales force productivity and satisfaction. "Compared to the industry average, we have seen a significant increase in the number of daily physician visits among our sales representatives," said Craig Ballaron, Aqua's co-founder and president, who discussed his company's experience at Dendrite's PharmaQuest conference, "Putting You Ahead: Success Strategies for Mid-Tier and Emerging Life Sciences Companies." When visiting physicians, sales representatives have all pertinent data readily available at their fingertips. Using the Dendrite MICRO's touch screen, they also capture signature authorizations for drug samples left with doctors, fully complying with U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations. (If physicians are not available, the phone's "near me" feature helps immediately pinpoint the location of nearby physicians to make "drop in" calls.) Because all information is immediately transmitted from the Dendrite MICRO to a company's home office, district managers can prepare real-time reports. "Dendrite MICRO enabled us to implement a sales force tool in much less time than traditional solutions," Ballaron said. "We were operational in only three weeks, and we have received only positive feedback about its functionality and usability."
